Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Stewart Hibbert made the kick off which started today's match. In the 4th minute, Franz Ferdinand left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Walthamstow fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. A hard shot 9 in the game by Franz Ferdinand from a close distance when the talented Roger Heslop managed to make a qualified save. Ferencvárosi TC's players were relieved. Roger Heslop made an important save on a dangerous shot by Franz Ferdinand in the 17th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ian Woodier in the 20th minute of play forced Ferencvárosi TC's goalkeeper Roger Heslop to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 22 minutes into the match, Ferencvárosi TC's goalkeeper Roger Heslop had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Franz Ferdinand. Franz Ferdinand fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Roger Heslop having to interfere. Ferencvárosi TC's Roger Heslop played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ian Woodier in the 30th minute of play. A collision led to Walthamstow getting a freekick after 34 minutes play. Roger Lumb hit a great ball. Nicholas Cheetham showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Stewart Hibbert in the 35th minute of the match. When Mattias Mallaby fell near the penalty area in the 36th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Walthamstow's protests and gave Mattias Mallaby a yellow card for diving instead. In the 36th match minute, Walthamstow was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mattias Mallaby to maneuver through the defense. Walthamstow's Ian Woodier got a good chance for a goal in the 40th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Franz Ferdinand sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Ian Woodier to strike the kick off in the second half. Mattias Mallaby got his second yellow card in the match during the 57th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. If Junior Ward had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 60th minute, Ian Woodier hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Roger Lumb was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 62 minutes had been played. After 62 played minutes Walthamstow got a freekick which was hit by Roger Lumb. In the 63rd minute of the match Brandon McDonald shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Nicholas Cheetham showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After having played for 65 minutes, Junior Ward managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ferencvárosi TC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Junior Ward was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 66 played minutes Walthamstow got a freekick which was hit by Ian Woodier. If Junior Ward had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Greg Carragher recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 90th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 92 minutes, Shaun Barfield mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Ferencvárosi TC and the Walthamstow players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 92nd match minute, Ferencvárosi TC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Shaun Barfield to maneuver through the defense. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Toby Gilchrist during the 93rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Walthamstow's Toby Gilchrist got a free kick in the 93rd minute. Junior Ward struck a weak shot in the 95th minute. Nicholas Cheetham didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ferencvárosi TC. Walthamstow's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
