When Seer Green's Steven Ackland in 3 game minutes managed to cut through with the ball in front of the goal, only having to shoot. Ian Mawson guarding the goal like a pit bull was extremely focused and managed to reach the ball just by the crossbar before it went in. Allan Marshall struck a weak shot in the 5th minute. Ian Mawson didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Seer Green. In the 15th minute, Pete Moorhouse ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ian Mawson was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Allan Marshall fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ian Mawson having to interfere. Seer Green's Steven Ackland got a good chance for a goal in the 38th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Steven Ackland scored 1-2 in the 41st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ian Mawson, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Ash Callery received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Jon Black tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 47th match minute, Seer Green was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Al Button to maneuver through the defense. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Allan Marshall made the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd minute, Allan Marshall got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Steven Ackland received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. Ian Mawson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Strapping Young Lads's supporters rose to their feet, but Nat Timmins was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jon Black breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Jon Black took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ash Callery, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Strapping Young Lads's Ian Mawson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Allan Marshall in the 75th minute of play. Johnathon Ploughman hit a great freekick 76 minutes into the match. 80 minutes into the game, Strapping Young Lads's Ash Callery nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Jon Black made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-3. Allan Marshall recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 83rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Strapping Young Lads's goalie Ian Mawson was quick on his feet when Steven Ackland aimed and made a shot towards the top left corner. The goalie picked down the ball without great difficulties. Ian Mawson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Allan Marshall, who was totally free with the ball in the 87th minute. In the 90th match minute, Strapping Young Lads was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Louie Wendon to maneuver through the defense. The Strapping Young Lads fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Seer Green were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
