Talent!'s Gaz Illingworth got a free kick in the 5th minute. 9 minutes into the match, Skelmersdale City's goal looked a bit too open when Joseph Clayton came free, but Darius Strongman reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience was convinced that Teddy Bowden's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Danny Canning was relentless in the 10th minute of the game. The F.c. Talent! fans' excitement grew in the 11th match minute when F.c. Talent!'s Joseph Clayton looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Jeremy Swallow's late challenge caught a F.c. Talent!'s player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jeremy Swallow helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Skelmersdale City's Jude Wells got a free kick in the 24th minute. Joseph Clayton fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Darius Strongman having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Gaz Illingworth's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Darius Strongman was relentless in the 27th minute of the game. Matt Turner sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. Darius Strongman was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 37 minutes into the match, Teddy Bowden dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Danny Canning, 1-2. Gaz Illingworth sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gaz Illingworth in the 43rd minute of play forced Skelmersdale City's goalkeeper Darius Strongman to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Gaz Illingworth had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Teddy Bowden to make the kick off. After 51 played minutes Gaz Illingworth rounded Skelmersdale City's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 1-3. An unexpectedly hard shot by Matt Turner in the 58th minute of play forced F.c. Talent!'s goalkeeper Danny Canning to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 59 minutes into the match, F.c. Talent!'s goal looked a bit too open when Teddy Bowden came free, but Danny Canning reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Darius Strongman made a fantastic save in the 73rd minute, when Joseph Clayton sent off a good shot on target. With a little luck, Skelmersdale City's Darius Strongman got control of the ball when Joseph Clayton tried to sneak it across the goal line. The supporters of F.c. Talent! booed when Skelmersdale City was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 76 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jo Knightley didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 84th minute, Jeffrey Dumpleton hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. F.c. Talent! were awarded a corner in the 87th minute after Skelmersdale City's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Brian Houghton took the corner. The corner led F.c. Talent!'s Brian Houghton to fire away a dangerous shot which Darius Strongman despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. In the 91st minute, Jo Knightley hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 94th minute, F.c. Talent!'s Joseph Clayton dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-5. F.c. Talent!'s supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
