After 7 played minutes, Firsaga's Jay Fisher shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Darius Strongman came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Firsaga reached it. An unexpectedly hard shot by Keanu Bettinson in the 11th minute of play forced Skelmersdale City's goalkeeper Darius Strongman to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Keanu Bettinson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 15th minute, Skelmersdale City's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Keanu Bettinson fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Keiran Carr took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Teddy Bowden, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Darius Strongman made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Keanu Bettinson in the 20th minute of play. If Tristan Penn had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Darius Strongman took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Keanu Bettinson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 30th of the match, Keanu Bettinson tried to place the ball in the upper right corner, but Darius Strongman got in the way and made a wonderful save. Jude Wells kicked well hit freekick during the 34th minute of the match. Darius Strongman made an important save on a dangerous shot by Tristan Penn in the 40th minute. 42 minutes in the game, Tristan Penn fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Darius Strongman having to interfere. If Keanu Bettinson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Tristan Penn took the ball and in the 61 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Darius Strongman. Darius Strongman dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. Tristan Penn recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 65th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Jeffrey Dumpleton's late challenge caught a Firsaga's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jeffrey Dumpleton helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Firsaga's Donald Trotter got a free kick in the 74th minute. Firsaga's Keanu Bettinson got a good chance for a goal in the 89th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After having played for 91 minutes, Tristan Penn managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Firsaga's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tristan Penn was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Jude Wells shot from long distance in the 93rd minute, but Keiran Carr was prepared and stopped the ball at the left post.
