Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell David Foggarty to make the kick off. With a little luck, Victorious Secret's Al Newland got control of the ball when Quentin Ellis tried to sneak it across the goal line. After having played for 62 minutes, David Foggarty managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. southport fc's supporters crossed their fingers, but David Foggarty was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When the match had gone on for 64 minutes, David Foggarty took a quick shot and it went in 1-1 without a chance for Al Newland to make any attempt to save it. In the 70th minute Luke Everett shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vic Morgan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in southport fc's zone, Richie Boland stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Vic Morgan came out of the goal and Richie Boland tried to chip the ball over his head. Austin Matthews's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Vic Morgan read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 75th minute of play. 87 minutes into the game, Matthew Humphreys recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Al Newland. Matthew Humphreys showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-2. Vic Morgan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Austin Matthews in the 92nd minute of the match. In the 94th match minute, Victorious Secret was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luke Everett to maneuver through the defense. Quentin Ellis recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 95th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. southport fc walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
