Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Jim Fairfax kicked off to start the match. Frankie Upson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 4th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 6 minutes into the game, Vince Fordham was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Kuton FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Waterlooville AFC the free kick. Vince Fordham hit a great freekick 6 minutes into the match. Frankie Upson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 10th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Frankie Upson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fred Gilchrist having to interfere. In the 18th minute, Tony Forrest got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Tony Forrest sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Fred Gilchrist didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Jim Fairfax went, in the 23rd minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Nigel Morris showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Marty Proctor, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. Nigel Morris was a little too slow when Tony Forrest got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 32nd minute. The score was now 1-1. When Frankie Upson came up free with the goalie in the 36th minute, the Kuton FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Frankie Upson couldn't finish the play. 38 minutes into the match, Kuton FC's goal looked a bit too open when Marty Proctor came free, but Nigel Morris reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Marty Proctor to strike the kick off in the second half. Nigel Morris came out of the goal in the 53rd minute to try and stop a shot by Waterlooville AFC's Marty Proctor. But to his dismay, Marty Proctor quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. If Frankie Upson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Waterlooville AFC's Fred Gilchrist played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jim Fairfax in the 58th minute of play. 62 minutes into the match, Waterlooville AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Jim Fairfax came free, but Fred Gilchrist reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Jim Fairfax had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Tony Forrest recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 69th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 71st match minute, Kuton FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vince Fordham to maneuver through the defense. If Marty Proctor had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Nigel Morris made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tony Forrest in the 80th minute of play. In the 85th minute Marty Proctor shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nigel Morris saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jim Fairfax in the 89th minute of play forced Waterlooville AFC's goalkeeper Fred Gilchrist to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 94th minute, Tony Forrest got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Marty Proctor recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 96th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Kuton FC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
