Pedro Mansfield showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Wesley Duff in the 21st minute of the match. Hugh Duckworth hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. After recieving a nice pass, The Oxford Blues's Tris Verity tried to score from far away in the 25th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Wesley Duff in the 27th minute of play forced Maine Road FC's goalkeeper Pedro Mansfield to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 27th match minute, Maine Road FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Laurence Legg to maneuver through the defense. Jude Reddington's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 43rdth minute, Ruben Key skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Wesley Duff sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Wesley Duff received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 51st minute. Pedro Mansfield tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The Oxford Blues's Nigel Sills got a good chance for a goal in the 60th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Wesley Duff came up free with the goalie in the 70th minute, the The Oxford Blues fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Wesley Duff couldn't finish the play. Nigel Sills's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Pedro Mansfield read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 72nd minute of play. Ryan Moore's late challenge caught a Maine Road FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ryan Moore helped the player get up and apologised. Ryan Moore kicked well hit freekick during the 76th minute of the match. The audience cheered when Louis Merchant's long shot passed Ruben Key's right side. It was 2-1, 77 minutes into the match. Nat Shuttleworth sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Nat Shuttleworth in the 86th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ruben Key saved The Oxford Blues from getting behind. Ruben Key didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Nat Shuttleworth went, in the 94th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-1 was the resulting score.
