After some careless play in the Hot-Spurs defense, Nigel Sills kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Zack Coote. The Hot-Spurs fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Zack Coote should have stopped the shot. Ged Greenwood's late challenge caught a Hot-Spurs's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ged Greenwood helped the player get up and apologised. Lloyd Beale blasted a shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Ruben Key having to make a save. In the 22nd minute Lloyd Beale shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ruben Key saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Zack Coote showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nigel Sills in the 24th minute of the match. When the match had gone on for 27 minutes, Lloyd Beale put it in 1-1 from a short distance just to the right of Ruben Key. Nigel Sills fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Zack Coote having to interfere. Zack Coote took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Wesley Duff, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Lloyd Beale to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 60th minute the ball was on its way in behind Hot-Spurs's goalkeeper Zack Coote, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 67 minutes into the match, Nigel Sills had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Zack Coote. Hot-Spurs's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Nigel Sills was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. After 70 played minutes Hot-Spurs got a freekick which was hit by Damon Rocastle. Wesley Duff struck a weak shot in the 73rd minute. Zack Coote didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for The Oxford Blues. Ted Hammett sent away a hard shot on goal in the 75th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Wesley Duff had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 81 minutes into the match, Hot-Spurs's goalkeeper Zack Coote had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Nigel Sills. Mattias Dunn hit a great freekick 81 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, Hot-Spurs's Ted Hammett got a free kick in the 86th minute. Lloyd Beale fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ruben Key having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ted Hammett in the 94th minute of play forced The Oxford Blues's goalkeeper Ruben Key to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The The Oxford Blues players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
