Spectators: 6000 (Terracing: 4700, Seating: 1275, VIP seats: 25) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Jude Reddington kicked off to start the match. Sol Simms made a fantastic save in the 6th minute, when Nat Shuttleworth sent off a good shot on target. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dan McDonald in the 7th minute of play forced Maine Road FC's goalkeeper Pedro Mansfield to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Pedro Mansfield made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Barney Adamson in the 8th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Maine Road FC's zone, Dan McDonald stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Pedro Mansfield came out of the goal and Dan McDonald tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Barney Adamson came up free with the goalie in the 11th minute, the Ebley City fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Barney Adamson couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dan McDonald in the 12th minute of play forced Maine Road FC's goalkeeper Pedro Mansfield to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Dan McDonald recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 14th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Dan McDonald struck a weak shot in the 18th minute. Pedro Mansfield didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ebley City. After a rather tough play, Ebley City's Stan White got a free kick in the 22nd minute. Jude Reddington was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 24th minute. Maine Road FC's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. In the 28th minute, Barney Adamson ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Pedro Mansfield was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Pedro Mansfield showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Barney Adamson in the 40th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jude Reddington in the 42nd minute of play forced Ebley City's goalkeeper Sol Simms to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ebley City's Dan McDonald got a good chance for a goal in the 46th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Pedro Mansfield took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dan McDonald, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Barney Adamson to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute Jude Reddington shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sol Simms saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 55th minute Barney Adamson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pedro Mansfield saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Barney Adamson received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Pedro Mansfield came out and tried to block the shot, but Barney Adamson slotted it home off the left post making it 0-2 in the 56th minute. Barney Adamson kicked well hit freekick during the 59th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 62nd minute, Barney Adamson managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ebley City's supporters rose to their feet, but Barney Adamson was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Pedro Mansfield breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Pedro Mansfield took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Barney Adamson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Dan McDonald blasted a shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Pedro Mansfield having to make a save. When Barney Adamson came up free with the goalie in the 67th minute, the Ebley City fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Barney Adamson couldn't finish the play. Maine Road FC's Nat Shuttleworth got a good chance for a goal in the 74th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Pedro Mansfield showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Barney Adamson, who was totally free with the ball in the 78th minute. In the 80th minute, Nat Shuttleworth hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Nat Shuttleworth had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 89th play minute Dan McDonald came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Pedro Mansfield. 0-3. The supporters of Maine Road FC booed when Ebley City was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 92 match minutes in a wonderful position. Stan White didn't get a good kick on the ball.
