The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Tris Verity during the 23rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Tris Verity kicked well hit freekick during the 24th minute of the match. With his leg Ruben Key managed to avoid a goal in the 26thth minute, when Ebley City's Barney Adamson fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. When the match had gone on for 31 minutes, Barney Adamson took a quick shot and it went in 4-0 without a chance for Ruben Key to make any attempt to save it. Ruben Key made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Barney Adamson in the 38th minute of play. 39 minutes into the match Dan McDonald climbed in front of goal and pressed up 5-0 in the right cross behind a totally surprised Ruben Key. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Barney Adamson made a kick off. The referee ignored Ebley City's protests and gave Stan White a yellow card for diving instead. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Dan McDonald in the 71st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ruben Key prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Sid Flack hit a great freekick 85 minutes into the match. Ruben Key stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Dan McDonald's shot from short distance in the 86th minute. In the 90thth minute of the game Barney Adamson who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but The Oxford Blues's Ruben Key was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. If Dan McDonald had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in The Oxford Blues's zone, Barney Adamson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ruben Key came out of the goal and Barney Adamson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.
