Spectators: 7514 (Terracing: 5636, Seating: 1728, VIP seats: 150) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Lloyd Beale started the match with the kick off. A collision led to Exeter getting a freekick after 3 minutes play. Stan Cain hit a great ball. After having played for 8 minutes, Lewis Rigg managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Exeter's supporters crossed their fingers, but Lewis Rigg was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 10th minute the ball was on its way in behind Hot-Spurs's goalkeeper Zack Coote, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After 17 minutes, Stan Cain made it 0-1 with a short kick to the right side. Hot-Spurs's Zack Coote tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 20th match minute, Hot-Spurs was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Damon Rocastle to maneuver through the defense. Karl Weedon was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 20th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. The audience was convinced that Lewis Rigg's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Zack Coote was relentless in the 28th minute of the game. Zack Coote made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lewis Rigg in the 35th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Stan Cain in the 41st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Zack Coote prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Hot-Spurs's Zack Coote played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Stan Cain in the 44th minute of play. Lewis Rigg might have been able to make a better finish in the 45th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Zack Coote. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Lewis Rigg ran back to his position shaking his head.

54 minutes into the match, Hot-Spurs's goal looked a bit too open when Stan Cain came free, but Zack Coote reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Exeter's attack was well implemented in the 57th minute, but when Stan Cain was about to shoot he didn't get a good hit on the ball and it hit the crossbar and flew over. Goal Kick. Zack Coote made a fantastic save in the 63rd minute, when Lewis Rigg sent off a good shot on target. Exeter's Stan Cain got a good chance for a goal in the 64th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Lewis Rigg might have been able to make a better finish in the 66th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Zack Coote. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Lewis Rigg ran back to his position shaking his head. After 71 played minutes Exeter got a freekick which was hit by Rod Younger. Howard Kenna hit a great freekick 76 minutes into the match. Lewis Rigg sent away a hard shot on goal in the 77th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Tod Sherman's late challenge caught a Exeter's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Tod Sherman helped the player get up and apologised. Zack Coote took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Stan Cain, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Zack Coote made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Stan Cain in the 94th minute of play. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Exeter players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
