The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Brandon Halliday during the 4th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Luke Horner showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Barney Adamson in the 9th minute of the match. Stan Newbury charged in rather forcefully in the 11th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Stan Newbury the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 11th minute, Stan Newbury hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Barney Adamson received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Luke Horner came out and tried to block the shot, but Barney Adamson slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 15th minute. After having played for 19 minutes, Dan McDonald managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ebley City's supporters crossed their fingers, but Dan McDonald was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 25th minute, Honiton's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Dan McDonald fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Luke Horner showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Barney Adamson in the 29th minute of the match. Dan McDonald fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luke Horner having to interfere. Barney Adamson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a little luck, Honiton's Luke Horner got control of the ball when Dan McDonald tried to sneak it across the goal line. Honiton's Luke Horner proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 42nd minute of the match, managed to save Honiton from getting a goal against them. After a defensive mix-up in Ebley City's zone, Rex Wardle stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Sol Simms came out of the goal and Rex Wardle tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.

Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Dan McDonald in the 52nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Luke Horner prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Luke Horner showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dan McDonald, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. Luke Horner took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Barney Adamson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Luke Horner stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Barney Adamson's shot from short distance in the 58th minute. After 58 played minutes Honiton got a freekick which was hit by Brandon Halliday. In the 59th minute Dan McDonald shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luke Horner saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Dan McDonald blasted a shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Luke Horner having to make a save. After a rather tough play, Ebley City's Jordan Stonehouse got a free kick in the 75th minute. If Barney Adamson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some careless play in the Honiton defense, Dan McDonald kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Luke Horner. The Honiton fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Luke Horner should have stopped the shot. Barney Adamson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luke Horner having to interfere. Ebley City were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Honiton for a fine match.
