In the 44th match minute, Ebley City was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Barney Adamson to maneuver through the defense. In the 47th minute, Dan McDonald got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After the first half Ebley City were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

In the 52nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Hot-Spurs's goalkeeper Zack Coote, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Barney Adamson was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 53rd minute. Ebley City's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Hot-Spurs's Lloyd Beale got a good chance for a goal in the 60th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Ted Hammett might have been able to make a better finish in the 61st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Sol Simms. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ted Hammett ran back to his position shaking his head. If Dan McDonald had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Damon Rocastle hit a great freekick 64 minutes into the match. Lloyd Beale sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Lloyd Beale fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sol Simms having to interfere.
