The referee ignored Dag & Red's protests and gave Nathan Dunlop a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Leonel fc booed when Dag & Red was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 9 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nathan Dunlop didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Phillip Clay had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jerry Grayson recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 13th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Mike Ainge took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mitch Coulson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Phillip Clay fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mike Ainge having to interfere. Nick Huckerby hit a great freekick 18 minutes into the match. After 29th play minutes Fitz Chapman shot 0-1, a short shot which went by Tim Alsford and just under the crossbar into goal. Pete Elwick kicked well hit freekick during the 33rd minute of the match. When the match had gone on for 35 minutes, Mitch Coulson took a quick shot and it went in 1-1 without a chance for Mike Ainge to make any attempt to save it. After some careless play in the Leonel fc defense, Mitch Coulson kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Mike Ainge. The Leonel fc fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Mike Ainge should have stopped the shot. Mattias Roebuck received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 48th minute. Mike Ainge tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Fitz Chapman stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 53 minutes into the match, Leonel fc's goal looked a bit too open when Mattias Roebuck came free, but Mike Ainge reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jerry Grayson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Mike Ainge showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mitch Coulson in the 56th minute of the match. Nick Huckerby hit a great freekick 58 minutes into the match. If Mitch Coulson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 61st minute Jerry Grayson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mike Ainge saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Nick Huckerby kicked well hit freekick during the 62nd minute of the match. Mattias Roebuck received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 64th minute. When Mattias Roebuck came up free with the goalie in the 70th minute, the Dag & Red fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Mattias Roebuck couldn't finish the play. If Mattias Roebuck had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After having played for 84 minutes, Mattias Roebuck managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Dag & Red's supporters crossed their fingers, but Mattias Roebuck was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Mitch Coulson in the 87th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Mike Ainge saved Leonel fc from getting behind. When Phillip Clay came up free with the goalie in the 88th minute, the Dag & Red fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Phillip Clay couldn't finish the play. Jerry Grayson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Nathan Dunlop had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Leonel fc's Mike Ainge played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mitch Coulson in the 96th minute of play. There was no doubt that Dag & Red were the better team. Dag & Red's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
