The Cave
Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Robin Way took the kick off in the first half of the match. Travis Prutton recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 5th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Harvey Atkins struck a weak shot in the 12th minute. Dale Dearden didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Forest Hill. After a rather tough play, Forest Hill's Harvey Atkins got a free kick in the 13th minute. After having played for 15 minutes, Robin Way managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. cavefc's supporters crossed their fingers, but Robin Way was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 19 minutes into the match, cavefc's goal looked a bit too open when Grant Locke came free, but Dale Dearden reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. cavefc's Stevie Clayton shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 22nd minute of play. The shot was stopped by Stan Frost but with some difficulty. 28 minutes in the game, the ball went up into the seats when Forest Hill's CJ Morrell fired away a shot that was just a little bit too high. He walked away shaking his head. After 30 minutes, Harvey Atkins mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Forest Hill and the cavefc players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 30th match minute, Forest Hill was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Harvey Atkins to maneuver through the defense. Nigel Dothery, 31 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Grant Locke fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dale Dearden having to interfere. Lance Ellis hit a great freekick 45 minutes into the match. Forest Hill's Grant Locke got a good chance for a goal in the 46th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Grant Locke was the one to do the kick off. Dale Dearden showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Grant Locke in the 51st minute of the match. After 54 played minutes Forest Hill got a freekick which was hit by Glen Brennan. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nigel Dothery in the 55th minute of play forced Forest Hill's goalkeeper Stan Frost to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 65th minute, Robin Way managed to get in a good position for a shot. cavefc's supporters rose to their feet, but Robin Way was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Stan Frost breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Travis Prutton in the 69th minute of play forced Forest Hill's goalkeeper Stan Frost to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Stan Frost showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Travis Prutton, who was totally free with the ball in the 76th minute. In the 77th minute Travis Prutton shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Stan Frost saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Dale Dearden was out of position in the 80 minute of play, and Grant Locke capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Grant Locke really showed his touch with that goal: 0-1. In the 84th minute, Dale Billington hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Travis Prutton received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 87th minute. Stan Frost tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 89 minutes into the match, cavefc's goal looked a bit too open when Grant Locke came free, but Dale Dearden reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 91st minute, Travis Prutton got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Dale Dearden showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Grant Locke in the 97th minute of the match.
