Spectators: 6759 (Terracing: 5610, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 149) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Damon Walton started the match with the kick off. Damon Walton received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 9th minute. Pat Willoughby tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 10 minutes, Garth Sheldon mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the INVASION and the FreshFord FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Garth Sheldon kicked well hit freekick during the 10th minute of the match. Damon Walton recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 12th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. With a little luck, INVASION's Pat Willoughby got control of the ball when Sly Rawson tried to sneak it across the goal line. Joel Botham showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sean Hackney, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Sean Hackney in the 28th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Joel Botham saved FreshFord FC from getting behind. Joel Botham showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sean Hackney in the 29th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Damon Walton in the 31st minute of play forced INVASION's goalkeeper Pat Willoughby to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Damon Walton received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. Pat Willoughby tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a little luck, INVASION's Pat Willoughby got control of the ball when Damon Walton tried to sneak it across the goal line. After having played for 36 minutes, Sly Rawson managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FreshFord FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Sly Rawson was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Sly Rawson came up free with the goalie in the 38th minute, the FreshFord FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Sly Rawson couldn't finish the play. Joel Botham showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gez Adams, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. Sean Hackney struck a weak shot in the 42nd minute. Joel Botham didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for INVASION. A collision led to FreshFord FC getting a freekick after 44 minutes play. Robert Little hit a great ball. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Warren Longthorn's late challenge caught a FreshFord FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Warren Longthorn helped the player get up and apologised. Robert Little charged in rather forcefully in the 60th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Robert Little the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of INVASION booed when FreshFord FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 60 match minutes in a wonderful position. Robert Little didn't get a good kick on the ball. Joel Botham stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Sean Hackney's shot from short distance in the 61st minute. 69 minutes into the match, FreshFord FC's goalkeeper Joel Botham had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Gez Adams. Joel Botham made a fantastic save in the 72nd minute, when Gez Adams sent off a good shot on target. FreshFord FC's Joel Botham played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sean Hackney in the 81st minute of play. Robert Little hit a great freekick 85 minutes into the match. Sean Hackney might have been able to make a better finish in the 88th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Joel Botham. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Sean Hackney ran back to his position shaking his head. Gez Adams received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 89th minute. Joel Botham tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. FreshFord FC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 91st minute, when Sean Hackney scored to the left of an out of position Joel Botham, making the score, 0-2. In the 96th minute Sean Hackney shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Joel Botham saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. INVASION's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Gavin Alsford in the 98th minute. INVASION's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
