Bakewell FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Ralf Gill was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Bob Bensley breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Bob Bensley stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Alfie Tubbs's shot from short distance in the 17th minute. Ronan Barton hit a great freekick 17 minutes into the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jay Coulson in the 38th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Peter Wooding prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 41st minute, Yoxford City's Adrian Lawson ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Peter Wooding. Peter Wooding yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Adrian Lawson stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 52 minutes into the match, Bakewell FC's goal looked a bit too open when Jay Coulson came free, but Peter Wooding reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some careless play in the Bakewell FC defense, Jay Coulson kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Peter Wooding. The Bakewell FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Peter Wooding should have stopped the shot. Adrian Lawson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. Ralf Gill could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 85th minute of the match, but Bob Bensley made a huge save. When the match had gone on for 89 minutes, Adrian Lawson put it in 4-0 from a short distance just to the right of Peter Wooding. Jay Coulson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Peter Wooding having to interfere. Peter Wooding showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Adrian Lawson, who was totally free with the ball in the 94th minute. Adrian Lawson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 99th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Yoxford City fans cheered their team off the field, for while Bakewell FC had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
