Nathan FC's Joshua Wild played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Stewart Ward in the 3rd minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 6th minute, Stewart Ward managed to get in a good position for a shot. Oakengates's supporters rose to their feet, but Stewart Ward was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Joshua Wild breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 8th minute, Tod Buckle hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 14 minutes into the game, Andrew Langston was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Nathan FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Oakengates the free kick. If Stewart Ward had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 25 minutes into the match, Stewart Ward had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Joshua Wild. Nathan FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Stewart Ward was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Loyd Delaney fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Joshua Wild having to interfere. Hugh Bell could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 34th minute of the match, but Tod Redwood-Turner made a huge save. 37 minutes into the match, Oakengates's goalkeeper Tod Redwood-Turner had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Hugh Bell. If Ty Morley had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Stewart Ward fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Joshua Wild having to interfere. In the 45th minute, Hugh Bell made a precise shot to the right of Tod Redwood-Turner. Oakengates's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Ty Morley to strike the kick off in the second half. Stewart Ward received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 51st minute. Joshua Wild tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Hugh Bell sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. If Ty Morley had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Joshua Wild was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 64th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Perry Knowles. In the 66th minute of the match Andy Swallow shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Tod Redwood-Turner showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. When Loyd Delaney came up free with the goalie in the 68th minute, the Oakengates fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Loyd Delaney couldn't finish the play. Ty Morley received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 70th minute. Tod Redwood-Turner tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Oakengates booed when Nathan FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 73 match minutes in a wonderful position. Andrew Bailey didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 75th minute, Loyd Delaney managed to get in a good position for a shot. The Nathan FC fans' excitement grew in the 87th match minute when Nathan FC's Ty Morley looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene.
