Johnathon Morse made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. VixenFC's Marc Long got a good chance for a goal in the 17th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Gerry Browne showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from David Ingram, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. Bill Welch sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Johnathon Morse was a little too slow when Tony McGurk got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 30th minute. The score was now 2-0. 35 minutes into the match, Polonia Gloucester's goal looked a bit too open when Marc Long came free, but Gerry Browne reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Bill Welch got free with Johnathon Morse in the 36th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If David Ingram had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Dennis Blackwater hit a great ball. Gerry Browne had in the 96thth minute some difficulties stopping Silvester Downing's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. A hard shot 99 in the game by Marc Long from a close distance when the talented Gerry Browne managed to make a qualified save. Polonia Gloucester's players were relieved.
