Rory Morris showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kristopher Millman in the 10th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gerry Bourne in the 16th minute of play forced kennoway rangers's goalkeeper Rory Morris to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Gerry Bourne in the 17th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Rory Morris saved kennoway rangers from getting behind. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kristopher Millman in the 20th minute of play forced kennoway rangers's goalkeeper Rory Morris to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. kennoway rangers's Harry Beaumont got a good chance for a goal in the 32nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 43rd minute of the match Eric Kay sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Rory Morris skillfully saved the ball. If Harry Beaumont had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Gerry Bourne to make the kick off. After a defensive mix-up in kennoway rangers's zone, Kristopher Millman stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rory Morris came out of the goal and Kristopher Millman tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 55th minute, Bromborough's Gerry Bourne ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Rory Morris. Rory Morris yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-1. When Kristopher Millman came up free with the goalie in the 60th minute, the Bromborough fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Kristopher Millman couldn't finish the play. 62 minutes into the game, Gerry Bourne recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Rory Morris. Gerry Bourne showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-2. When Alastair Cooper came up free with the goalie in the 66th minute, the Bromborough fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alastair Cooper couldn't finish the play. After 74 minutes, Derek Sawbridge made it 1-2 with a short kick to the right side. Bromborough's Alec Marston tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. With his leg Rory Morris managed to avoid a goal in the 80thth minute, when Bromborough's Kristopher Millman fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. In the 82nd minute of the match, Kristopher Millman got a very nice opportunity to score, but Rory Morris was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. After some fancy dribbling in the 83rd minute, Derek Sawbridge managed to get in a good position for a shot. kennoway rangers's supporters rose to their feet, but Derek Sawbridge was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Alec Marston breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Gerry Bourne recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 86th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The kennoway rangers supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Bromborough's performance. The match ended with a win for Bromborough.
