The audience thought a goal was coming when Derek Sawbridge got free with Gerry Browne in the 4th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Derek Sawbridge charged in rather forcefully in the 5th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Derek Sawbridge the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to kennoway rangers getting a freekick after 5 minutes play. Derek Sawbridge hit a great ball. In the 11th minute Tony McGurk shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rory Morris saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Tony McGurk had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 15th minute, Harry Beaumont fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Gerry Browne, passed just outside the right post. Rory Morris showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tony McGurk, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. In the 19th match minute, kennoway rangers was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jon Backhouse to maneuver through the defense. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Tony McGurk in the 20th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Rory Morris saved kennoway rangers from getting behind. After 24 played minutes Polonia Gloucester got a freekick which was hit by Gaz Kellaway. Harry Beaumont recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 26th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Derek Sawbridge sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 31 minutes, Tony McGurk managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Polonia Gloucester's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tony McGurk was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Bill Welch had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 34thth minute of the game Tony McGurk who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but kennoway rangers's Rory Morris was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Rory Morris showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bill Welch in the 35th minute of the match. Polonia Gloucester's Bill Welch got a good chance for a goal in the 37th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Bill Welch received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. Rory Morris tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 41 minutes into the game, Polonia Gloucester's Tony McGurk nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Rory Morris made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Tony McGurk sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Rory Morris took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tony McGurk, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
The wind increased when Harry Beaumont made the kick off in the second half. When Tony McGurk came up free with the goalie in the 52nd minute, the Polonia Gloucester fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tony McGurk couldn't finish the play. kennoway rangers's Rory Morris played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tony McGurk in the 54th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Polonia Gloucester's Joe Scott got a free kick in the 58th minute. If Tony McGurk had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Polonia Gloucester's Bill Welch got a good chance for a goal in the 63rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Polonia Gloucester's zone, Harry Beaumont stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gerry Browne came out of the goal and Harry Beaumont tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Derek Sawbridge sent away a hard shot on goal in the 67th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 71 played minutes kennoway rangers got a freekick which was hit by Tod Haigh. In the 75th minute, kennoway rangers's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Bill Welch fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Rory Morris was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Tony McGurk showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-2 in the 79 minute of play. Harry Beaumont recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 82nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 87th minute Derek Sawbridge shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gerry Browne saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 92nd minute, Harry Beaumont got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The kennoway rangers supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Polonia Gloucester's performance. The match ended with a win for Polonia Gloucester.
