Bristol Black Horse's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Wallasey City the free kick. Vance McGovern kicked well hit freekick during the 14th minute of the match. Peter Ingram stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Casey Griggs's shot from short distance in the 15th minute. After some careless play in the Bristol Black Horse defense, Casey Griggs kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Peter Ingram. The Bristol Black Horse fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Peter Ingram should have stopped the shot. When Tod Drury came up free with the goalie in the 28th minute, the Bristol Black Horse fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tod Drury couldn't finish the play. Peter Ingram took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Casey Griggs, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Peter Ingram made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Casey Griggs in the 32nd minute of play. Tod Drury sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Casey Griggs's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Peter Ingram read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 42nd minute of play. If Casey Griggs had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Daniel Blythe blasted a shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Kyle Scholey having to make a save. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Ian Cheetham to strike the kick off in the second half. 52 minutes into the match, Bristol Black Horse's goalkeeper Peter Ingram had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Casey Griggs. In the 57th minute of the match Bristol Black Horse got a corner. Wallasey City's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Wallasey City's Kyle Scholey played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Blythe in the 68th minute of play. In the 70th minute, Mitch Lowe hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 71 minutes into the match, Bristol Black Horse's goal looked a bit too open when Ian Cheetham came free, but Peter Ingram reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Damien Sawyer hit a great freekick 73 minutes into the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ian Cheetham in the 79th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Peter Ingram prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 82 minutes into the match, Bristol Black Horse's goalkeeper Peter Ingram had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Casey Griggs. In the 86th minute, Vance McGovern got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Damien Sawyer's late challenge caught a Bristol Black Horse's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Damien Sawyer helped the player get up and apologised. In the 87th minute, Damien Sawyer hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 88th minute of the match Deon Smith shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Kyle Scholey showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Kyle Scholey showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Daniel Blythe in the 92nd minute of the match. Wallasey City were delighted with the way they had won the match. They had held their defensive line well and made the most of their chances, to claim a victory over Bristol Black Horse's much stronger midfield.
