John Paul Pennant struck a weak shot in the 7th minute. Kurt Frain didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Sandown United. After a rather tough play, East Ham FC's Blair Mortimer got a free kick in the 8th minute. Sly Furlong showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dion Fisher in the 11th minute of the match. Dion Fisher recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 14th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Dion Fisher sent away a hard shot on goal in the 16th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 18 played minutes East Ham FC got a freekick which was hit by Laurence Garrett. Kurt Frain showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Shane Dowrick in the 20th minute of the match. Kurt Frain acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 25th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Martyn Holt. Garry Golding hit a great freekick 26 minutes into the match. 28 minutes into the match, John Paul Pennant sent off a long shot that looked like it was going straight into the goal, but because Kurt Frain threw himself in his full length he managed to grip the ball by the left post, and there was no goal for John Paul Pennant this time. If Dion Fisher had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Sly Furlong showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dion Fisher, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Dion Fisher in the 34th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Sly Furlong saved Sandown United from getting behind. Blair Mortimer received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. Sly Furlong tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 37th minute the ball was on its way in behind Sandown United's goalkeeper Sly Furlong, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Dion Fisher sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. East Ham FC's Kurt Frain proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 43rd minute of the match, managed to save East Ham FC from getting a goal against them. Martyn Holt hit a great freekick 45 minutes into the match. In the 47th minute, Blair Mortimer ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Sly Furlong was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Shane Dowrick stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After 55 minutes, Lenny Longley mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the East Ham FC and the Sandown United players grew even worse after the yellow card. Lenny Longley hit a great freekick 55 minutes into the match. After 57 played minutes East Ham FC got a freekick which was hit by Laurence Garrett. Shane Dowrick fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kurt Frain having to interfere. Dion Jefferies sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After a defensive mix-up in Sandown United's zone, Dion Fisher stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Sly Furlong came out of the goal and Dion Fisher tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 69 minutes into the match, Sandown United's goalkeeper Sly Furlong had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Dion Fisher. Gavin Pitman sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Dion Fisher received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 74th minute. Sly Furlong tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The long shot by Ash Peakman in the 76th minute really tested Sly Furlong's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. Sly Furlong showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dion Fisher in the 77th minute of the match. Laurence Garrett kicked well hit freekick during the 80th minute of the match. Dion Fisher recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 82nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Ash Peakman took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 84th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Sly Furlong. Sandown United's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. If Dion Jefferies had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When East Ham FC's Dion Fisher in the 89th minute got a chance for a shot 89th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Sandown United's goalie prevented a goal. After having played for 91 minutes, Dion Jefferies managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. East Ham FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Dion Jefferies was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Martin Ackland charged in rather forcefully in the 92nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Martin Ackland the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Martin Ackland hit a great freekick 92 minutes into the match. The East Ham FC fans' excitement grew in the 96th match minute when East Ham FC's Dion Fisher looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. East Ham FC played a much better game than Sandown United and deserved their victory. The Sandown United players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
