Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Gareth Langdon in the 15th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Sly Furlong prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 19 minutes into the game, Kasey Jones cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Sly Furlong was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The supporters of Famouz Stars booed when Sandown United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alec Messenger didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Kasey Jones had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gareth Langdon received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Sly Furlong tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Pete Norton lost his temper 38 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. In the 42nd minute, Martin Ackland hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Famouz Stars's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Hayden Holloway in the 46th minute. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

In the 60thth minute of the game Gareth Langdon who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Sandown United's Sly Furlong was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The referee ignored Sandown United's protests and gave Blair Winship a yellow card for diving instead. In the 74th match minute, Sandown United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Blair Winship to maneuver through the defense. Seb Ashworth fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dom Little having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Gareth Langdon's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Sly Furlong was relentless in the 87th minute of the game. Famouz Stars's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
