Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Sebastien Rigg took the kick off in the first half of the match. After 7 minutes, John Paul Pennant mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Sandown United and the Hunstanton players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 7th minute, John Paul Pennant hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Sly Furlong made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sebastien Rigg in the 9th minute of play. Brandon Clifford might have been able to make a better finish in the 15th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Sly Furlong. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Brandon Clifford ran back to his position shaking his head. Brandon Clifford's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Sly Furlong read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 24th minute of play. In the 25th match minute, Hunstanton was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Darren Sills to maneuver through the defense. In the 34th minute, Darren Sills hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Brandon Cliffords short, quick shot in the 38thth minute got Sly Furlong to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Brandon Clifford took the ball and in the 40 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Sly Furlong. Sly Furlong dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. Through an outstanding action, after 46 minutes, Sly Furlong successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Shane Dowrick to strike the kick off in the second half. Sandown United's John Paul Pennant got a good chance for a goal in the 52nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Felix Tonkin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Seb Ashworth, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. Sebastien Rigg received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. Sly Furlong tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Sandown United booed when Hunstanton was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 58 match minutes in a wonderful position. Darren Sills didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 61st minute of the match, Seb Ashworth got a very nice opportunity to score, but Felix Tonkin was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. If Lennie Wittingham had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Shane Dowrick recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 68th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Sebastien Rigg came up free with the goalie in the 72nd minute, the Hunstanton fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Sebastien Rigg couldn't finish the play. Sebastien Rigg might have been able to make a better finish in the 72nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Sly Furlong. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Sebastien Rigg ran back to his position shaking his head. A collision led to Sandown United getting a freekick after 76 minutes play. Lance Hislop hit a great ball. 89 minutes into the match, Sandown United's goal looked a bit too open when Brandon Clifford came free, but Sly Furlong reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Brandon Clifford had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 94th minute Sebastien Rigg shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sly Furlong saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. There was no doubt that Hunstanton were the better team. Hunstanton's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
