The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. 4 minutes into the game, one of GBNK:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. The goalkeeper, Archie Pearce, was totally fooled by Petersfield City's Vincent Booker, who 6 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. After having played for 14 minutes, Graham Whitehead managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Petersfield City's supporters crossed their fingers, but Graham Whitehead was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 17 minutes into the game, Lewis Mayall recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Archie Pearce. Lewis Mayall showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-0. A collision led to Petersfield City getting a freekick after 21 minutes play. Lewis Mayall hit a great ball. If Lewis Mayall had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Lewis Mayall in the 26th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Archie Pearce saved GBNK from getting behind. In the 28th minute, Lewis Mayall got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Archie Pearce made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lewis Mayall in the 30th minute of play. In the 37th minute, Bobby Welsh got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Simon Walton had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ray Blackburn took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Simon Walton, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Archie Pearce was a little too slow when Lewis Mayall got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 47th minute. The score was now 3-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Lewis Mayall to strike the kick off in the second half. A collision led to Petersfield City getting a freekick after 57 minutes play. Vincent Booker hit a great ball. Petersfield City's Ray Blackburn proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 58th minute of the match, managed to save Petersfield City from getting a goal against them. Graham Whitehead sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Lewis Mayall received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 63rd minute. Archie Pearce tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 65th minute, Johnathan Talbot hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Fraser Atherton kicked well hit freekick during the 67th minute of the match. Sammy Friebe hit a great freekick 69 minutes into the match. In the 73rd minute Graham Whitehead shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Archie Pearce saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Simon Walton in the 83rdth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Ray Blackburn, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. In the 85th minute, Dion Rooney hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Simon Walton's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ray Blackburn read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 87th minute of play. Petersfield City's Ray Blackburn proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 91st minute of the match, managed to save Petersfield City from getting a goal against them. In the 97th minute, Bobby Welsh hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Petersfield City fans cheered their team off the field, for while GBNK had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
