Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) In the 4th minute Reg Eastham shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nigel Fletcher saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Vernon Cryan charged in rather forcefully in the 9th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Vernon Cryan the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 8th minute, one of OZS Guzikowka Krosno:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for OZS Guzikowka Krosno. In the 10th minute there was a penalty for Welford. Thom Townson stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Nigel Fletcher. 1-0. Reg Eastham's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Nigel Fletcher read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 13th minute of play. In the 17th minute, Reg Eastham got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Blair Ingham sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Freddy Theobold in the 34th minute of play forced Welford's goalkeeper Scott Peyton to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Blair Ingham could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 37th minute of the match, but Nigel Fletcher made a huge save.

Nigel Fletcher took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Reg Eastham, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Scott Peyton didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Jude Bradley went, in the 54th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. A collision led to OZS Guzikowka Krosno getting a freekick after 58 minutes play. Felix Edmonton hit a great ball. Reg Eastham might have been able to make a better finish in the 62nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Nigel Fletcher. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Reg Eastham ran back to his position shaking his head. 66 minutes into the match, OZS Guzikowka Krosno's goal looked a bit too open when Reg Eastham came free, but Nigel Fletcher reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Thom Townson kicked well hit freekick during the 69th minute of the match. In the 73rd minute Reg Eastham shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nigel Fletcher saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 77 played minutes OZS Guzikowka Krosno got a freekick which was hit by Russell Carroll. When Welford's Reg Eastham in the 78th minute got a chance for a shot 78th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Welford's supporters crossed their fingers, but Blair Ingham was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Blair Ingham came up free with the goalie in the 89th minute, the Welford fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Blair Ingham couldn't finish the play. Nigel Fletcher showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Blair Ingham, who was totally free with the ball in the 91st minute. After 92 minutes of play, Welford's Reg Eastham made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Nigel Fletcher was left in no man's land by his defense there! It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Welford had played much better football throughout.
