John Paul Higgins started the match with the kick off. After 3 played minutes Hereford got a freekick which was hit by Laurence Corrigan. Sammy Holdroyd took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 4th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Scott Todd. Hereford's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. In the 5th minute, Stan Metcalf hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 6th minute Bradley Hollingsworth shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Scott Todd saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Norby booed when Hereford was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 7 match minutes in a wonderful position. Chesney Bowe didn't get a good kick on the ball. Bradley Hollingsworth received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 9th minute. Scott Todd tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ash Barratt in the 17th minute of play forced Hereford's goalkeeper Scott Todd to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Bradley Hollingsworth fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Scott Todd having to interfere. After 25 played minutes Norby got a freekick which was hit by Dan Bancroft. In the 26th minute of the match Clive Sutton sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Martyn Gough skillfully saved the ball. After 27 played minutes Hereford got a freekick which was hit by Matthew Peacock. If Calum Notley had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 32 minutes into the match, Hereford's John Paul Higgins sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Martyn Gough narrowly saved just below the crossbar. When Bradley Hollingsworth came up free with the goalie in the 34th minute, the Norby fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Bradley Hollingsworth couldn't finish the play. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ash Barratt to make the kick off. Calum Notley fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Martyn Gough having to interfere. Clive Sutton kicked well hit freekick during the 55th minute of the match. After 59 minutes of play Hereford's Chesney Bowe was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. If Ash Barratt had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ash Barratt received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 90th minute. Scott Todd tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ash Barratt might have been able to make a better finish in the 94th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Scott Todd. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ash Barratt ran back to his position shaking his head. When the final whistle sounded Norby left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Hereford.
