Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Ash Barratt took the kick off in the first half of the match. 3 minutes into the match, Norby's goal looked a bit too open when Reg Eastham came free, but Martyn Gough reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Scott Peyton showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Don Platt in the 7th minute of the match. Martyn Gough came out of the goal in the 20th minute to try and stop a shot by Welford's Tom Prendergast. But to his dismay, Tom Prendergast quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. After 26 minutes, Don Platt mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Norby and the Welford players grew even worse after the yellow card. Thom Townson took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 27th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Martyn Gough. Norby's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Reg Eastham fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Martyn Gough having to interfere. When the match had gone on for 40 minutes, Bradley Hollingsworth put it in 1-1 from a short distance just to the right of Scott Peyton. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Reg Eastham to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 51st match minute, Norby was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dan Bancroft to maneuver through the defense. Martyn Gough showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Reg Eastham, who was totally free with the ball in the 52nd minute. Blair Ingham might have been able to make a better finish in the 55th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Martyn Gough. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Blair Ingham ran back to his position shaking his head. If Ash Barratt had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 57 played minutes Norby got a freekick which was hit by Franz Parrott. Scott Peyton showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ash Barratt, who was totally free with the ball in the 59th minute. In the 61st minute, Reg Eastham got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Reg Eastham in the 63rd minute of play forced Norby's goalkeeper Martyn Gough to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Franz Parrott hit a great freekick 64 minutes into the match. In the 66th minute, Ash Barratt got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Welford's Blair Ingham came free and shot a quick shot against goal 70 minutes in the game, fortunately Martyn Gough had problems saving as it came toward the left post. After a rather tough play, Norby's Dylon Dixon got a free kick in the 70th minute. Blair Ingham sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ash Barratt in the 78th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Scott Peyton saved Welford from getting behind. Scott Peyton made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bradley Hollingsworth in the 80th minute of play. Scott Peyton showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bradley Hollingsworth in the 81st minute of the match. The supporters of Norby booed when Welford was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 82 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tom Prendergast didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 83rd minute, Ash Barratt ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Scott Peyton was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. Scott Peyton made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ash Barratt in the 87th minute of play. A collision led to Welford getting a freekick after 94 minutes play. Tom Prendergast hit a great ball. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Norby fans cheered their team off the field, for while Welford had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
