The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Norby's Martyn Gough proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 3rd minute of the match, managed to save Norby from getting a goal against them. After 4 minutes of play, Norby's Ash Barratt made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Archie Pearce was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 8th minute, Austin Caton fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Martyn Gough, passed just outside the right post. Ash Barratt sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 14 minutes into the match, Norby's Bradley Hollingsworth sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Archie Pearce narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After 15 played minutes GBNK got a freekick which was hit by Bobby Welsh. Archie Pearce didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Ash Barratt went, in the 16th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. In the 21st minute Ash Barratt shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Archie Pearce saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 22 minutes into the game, one of GBNK:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Sammy Holdroyd shot the penalty kick by force right in the crossbar. No goal. Austin Caton blasted a shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Martyn Gough having to make a save. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Franz Parrott during the 30th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Franz Parrott kicked well hit freekick during the 30th minute of the match. GBNK's Ollie Eastham shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 31st minute of play. The shot was stopped by Martyn Gough but with some difficulty. Austin Caton succeeded in the game's 34th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 1-2. After a defensive mix-up in GBNK's zone, Ash Barratt stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Archie Pearce came out of the goal and Ash Barratt tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 44th minute, Johnathan Talbot hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bradley Hollingsworth in the 45th minute of play forced GBNK's goalkeeper Archie Pearce to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Norby's Sammy Holdroyd got a free kick in the 47th minute. In the 51st minute of the match GBNK got a corner. Norby's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Ollie Eastham ran over to the corner to take the kick. After taking down the ball on GBNK's corner Ollie Eastham fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Martyn Gough quite easily take care of the ball. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Austin Caton to strike the kick off in the second half. Martyn Gough showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Austin Caton in the 55th minute of the match. The audience was convinced that Austin Caton's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Martyn Gough was relentless in the 61st minute of the game. Ash Barratt fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Archie Pearce having to interfere. In the 69th minute, Sammy Holdroyd hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Archie Pearce showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Don Platt in the 73rd minute of the match. Archie Pearce made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dylon Dixon in the 74th minute of play. Franz Parrott was shown his second yellow card after 77 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. In the 77th match minute, Norby was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Franz Parrott to maneuver through the defense. In the 78th minute of the match Ollie Eastham shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Martyn Gough showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. When the match had gone on for 80 minutes, Bradley Hollingsworth took a quick shot and it went in 1-4 without a chance for Archie Pearce to make any attempt to save it. With a little luck, GBNK's Archie Pearce got control of the ball when Don Platt tried to sneak it across the goal line. Martyn Gough showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Austin Caton in the 95th minute of the match. Norby's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
