The audience thought a goal was coming when Jude Bradley got free with Scott Todd in the 13th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. An unexpectedly hard shot by Calum Notley in the 15th minute of play forced OZS Guzikowka Krosno's goalkeeper Nigel Fletcher to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Calum Notley had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. OZS Guzikowka Krosno were furious when Silvester Hardcastle was red carded, 26 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. After 26 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for OZS Guzikowka Krosno! Clive Sutton shot the penalty kick by force right in the crossbar. No goal. John Paul Higgins sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 35th minute John Paul Higgins suffered a thigh injury and had to be helped off the field. Vernon Cryan charged in rather forcefully in the 36th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Vernon Cryan the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Calum Notley was the one to do the kick off. Calum Notley fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nigel Fletcher having to interfere. In the 57th minute, Chesney Bowe got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 58 minutes into the game, Felix Edmonton was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. OZS Guzikowka Krosno's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Hereford the free kick. Felix Edmonton kicked well hit freekick during the 58th minute of the match. In the 60th minute, OZS Guzikowka Krosno's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Calum Notley fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. When Calum Notley came up free with the goalie in the 62nd minute, the Hereford fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Calum Notley couldn't finish the play. Stan Metcalf fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nigel Fletcher having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 78th minute, Calum Notley managed to get in a good position for a shot. Hereford's supporters rose to their feet, but Calum Notley was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Nigel Fletcher breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Jude Bradley received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 81st minute. Scott Todd tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Hereford were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
