Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000,
Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Kasey Potter started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. After a rather tough play, Radcliffe's Kieran Church got a free kick in the 4th minute. In the 7th minute, Kasey Potter got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Bobby Selby made an important save on a dangerous shot by Marty Blackburn in the 11th minute. 13 minutes into the game, Felix Adamson was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Radcliffe's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave spurs city the free kick. After 13 played minutes Radcliffe got a freekick which was hit by Felix Adamson. Kasey Potter sent away a hard shot on goal in the 15th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 17th minute, Marty Blackburn managed to get in a good position for a shot. spurs city's supporters rose to their feet, but Marty Blackburn was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Bobby Selby breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Marty Blackburn's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Bobby Selby read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 18th minute of play. Radcliffe's Bobby Selby played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kasey Potter in the 22nd minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in spurs city's zone, Laurence Prior stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ross Westlake came out of the goal and Laurence Prior tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 32nd minute, Kasey Potter fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Ritchie Blewett hit a great freekick 34 minutes into the match. Stuart Clark, 35 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. The audience was convinced that Kasey Potter's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Bobby Selby was relentless in the 46th minute of the game. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. David Mahon was the one to do the kick off. When the match had gone on for 60 minutes, Marty Blackburn put it in 1-1 from a short distance just to the right of Bobby Selby. If Marty Blackburn had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jacob Blake kicked well hit freekick during the 66th minute of the match. Kasey Potter received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 70th minute. Bobby Selby tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Marty Blackburn's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Bobby Selby read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 72nd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marty Blackburn in the 76th minute of play forced Radcliffe's goalkeeper Bobby Selby to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Radcliffe's Bobby Selby played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marty Blackburn in the 77th minute of play. After some careless play in the Radcliffe defense, Marty Blackburn kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Bobby Selby. The Radcliffe fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Bobby Selby should have stopped the shot. Marty Blackburn scored 3-1 in the 86th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Bobby Selby, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. When Laurence Weeks fell near the penalty area in the 91st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored spurs city's protests and gave Laurence Weeks a yellow card for diving instead. In a very dangerous position, a player in spurs city fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 91st minute. Penalty! In the 97th minute Rob Heslop shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bobby Selby saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Bobby Selby took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kasey Potter, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. spurs city's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
