Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Stewart Wills got the match started through his kick off. 6 minutes into the match, Bridgnorth's goal looked a bit too open when Stewart Wills came free, but Wayne Buckle reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Howard Turnbull had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 7th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Wayne Buckle stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Stewart Wills's shot from short distance in the 11th minute. 15 minutes into the game, Timothy Green cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Billy Warne was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 19 minutes into the match, Droylsden Rangers FC's goal looked a bit too open when Timothy Green came free, but Billy Warne reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Bridgnorth booed when Droylsden Rangers FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Russ Milburn didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Glen Newman had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Bryan Swain fell near the penalty area in the 25th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Droylsden Rangers FC's protests and gave Bryan Swain a yellow card for diving instead. In the 25th minute, Bryan Swain hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Spike Moody fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Billy Warne having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Howard Turnbull got free with Wayne Buckle in the 30th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Wayne Buckle came out of the goal in the 31st minute to try and stop a shot by Droylsden Rangers FC's Howard Turnbull. But to his dismay, Howard Turnbull quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. Howard Turnbull fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Wayne Buckle having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Stewart Wills's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Wayne Buckle was relentless in the 38th minute of the game. In the 43rd minute Timothy Green shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Billy Warne saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Howard Turnbull had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Howard Turnbull sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

When Glen Newman fell near the penalty area in the 56th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Bridgnorth's protests and gave Glen Newman a yellow card for diving instead. Glen Newman kicked well hit freekick during the 56th minute of the match. Stewart Wills fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Wayne Buckle having to interfere. Stewart Wills recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 63rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Stewart Wills might have been able to make a better finish in the 66th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Wayne Buckle. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Stewart Wills ran back to his position shaking his head. Wayne Buckle made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Howard Turnbull in the 67th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Droylsden Rangers FC's Bryan Swain got a free kick in the 69th minute. Tony Spurgeon, 70 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Howard Turnbull received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 77th minute. Wayne Buckle tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Stewart Wills got in the 79th a clear chance and fired away a hard shot against goal, but Wayne Buckle handled the situation perfectly and made a save by the crossbar. Bridgnorth's Wayne Buckle played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Howard Turnbull in the 80th minute of play. In the 81st match minute, Bridgnorth was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Pat Lonsdale to maneuver through the defense. Pat Lonsdale charged in rather forcefully in the 93rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Pat Lonsdale the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Glen Newman hit a great freekick 95 minutes into the match.
