Billy Warne showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tristram Lister, who was totally free with the ball in the 6th minute. Kyle Merris's late challenge caught a Droylsden Rangers FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Kyle Merris helped the player get up and apologised. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Tristram Lister in the 13th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Billy Warne saved Droylsden Rangers FC from getting behind. 20 minutes into the match, AFC Chiron's goalkeeper Teddy Tully had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Howard Turnbull. In the 26th minute Tristram Lister shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Billy Warne saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Christopher Purvis received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. Billy Warne tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Billy Warne showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tristram Lister in the 30th minute of the match. Droylsden Rangers FC's Billy Warne played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tristram Lister in the 31st minute of play. Stewart Wills might have been able to make a better finish in the 32nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Teddy Tully. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Stewart Wills ran back to his position shaking his head. A collision led to AFC Chiron getting a freekick after 34 minutes play. Jordan Love hit a great ball. 34 minutes into the match, Droylsden Rangers FC's Alistair Hurst broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Tristram Lister's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Billy Warne read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 41st minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Tristram Lister in the 42nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Billy Warne saved Droylsden Rangers FC from getting behind. Billy Warne made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tristram Lister in the 45th minute of play. In the 48th minute, Rueben Stobbs hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Howard Turnbull recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 49th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The wind increased when Stewart Wills made the kick off in the second half. After having played for 54 minutes, Howard Turnbull managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Droylsden Rangers FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Howard Turnbull was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Droylsden Rangers FC's Howard Turnbull got a good chance for a goal in the 56th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Teddy Tully showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Stewart Wills, who was totally free with the ball in the 58th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Stewart Wills in the 74th minute of play forced AFC Chiron's goalkeeper Teddy Tully to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 76 minutes, Howard Turnbull made it 1-1 with a short kick to the right side. AFC Chiron's Teddy Tully tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Howard Turnbull received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 82nd minute. Teddy Tully tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Christopher Purvis got free with Billy Warne in the 85th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Tristram Lister's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Billy Warne read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 86th minute of play. Stewart Wills received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. Teddy Tully tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Stewart Wills's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Teddy Tully was relentless in the 98th minute of the game. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
