With a couple of smart ball manuevers David Mahon in the 5th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Wayne Buckle saved Bridgnorth from getting behind. Wayne Buckle showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from David Mahon, who was totally free with the ball in the 7th minute. Laurence Prior scored 1-0 in the 9th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Wayne Buckle, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 14th minute, Timothy Green got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 15th match minute, Radcliffe was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dean Milligan to maneuver through the defense. Spike Moody struck a weak shot in the 18th minute. Bobby Selby didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Bridgnorth. Glen Newman charged in rather forcefully in the 35th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Glen Newman the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Bridgnorth's Glen Newman got a free kick in the 35th minute. After 39 minutes of play, Bridgnorth's Spike Moody made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Bobby Selby was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 44th minute Spike Moody shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bobby Selby saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Spike Moody stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The supporters of Radcliffe booed when Bridgnorth was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 78 match minutes in a wonderful position. Glen Newman didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Timothy Green got free with Bobby Selby in the 82nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 83 minutes into the match, Bridgnorth's Spike Moody sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Bobby Selby narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Neither set of supporters seemed pleased with the draw, but both teams had played equally well today.
