Bloomsbury's supporters crossed their fingers, but Eric Rush was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Andrew MacDonald during the 46th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Sly Alsford to make the kick off. Kris Martin stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Eric Rush's shot from short distance in the 75th minute. After 75 minutes, Brian Shipton mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Windsor and the Bloomsbury players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 76 played minutes Windsor got a freekick which was hit by Brian Shipton. The Bloomsbury fans' excitement grew in the 77th match minute when Bloomsbury's Lloyd Ginn looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal.
