Wordsley Stadium
Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000,
Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Michael Leslie came out of the goal in the 2nd minute to try and stop a shot by Stamford Bridge's Lewis Draper. But to his dismay, Lewis Draper quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Paul Case sent away a hard shot on goal in the 9th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Paul Case's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Kurt Atkins read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 11th minute of play. Paul Case recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 14th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Kurt Atkins stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Paul Case's shot from short distance in the 20th minute. The audience was convinced that Paul Case's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Kurt Atkins was relentless in the 22nd minute of the game. If Conal Sinclair had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Conal Sinclair received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. Kurt Atkins tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Conal Sinclair's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 39thth minute, Kurt Atkins skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Wordsley City's Paul Case was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 42nd play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. Conal Sinclair in the 45thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Kurt Atkins, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.
In the 51st minute, Paul Case got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a rather tough play, Wordsley City's Conal Sinclair got a free kick in the 53rd minute. After some careless play in the Stamford Bridge defense, Paul Case kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Kurt Atkins. The Stamford Bridge fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Kurt Atkins should have stopped the shot. When the match clock showed 60 minutes, the score became 4-1 when Paul Case sped through Stamford Bridge's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Kurt Atkins. 69 minutes into the game, Conal Sinclair was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Wordsley City's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Stamford Bridge the free kick. The supporters of Stamford Bridge booed when Wordsley City was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 69 match minutes in a wonderful position. Conal Sinclair didn't get a good kick on the ball. Paul Case fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kurt Atkins having to interfere. After having played for 74 minutes, Paul Case managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Wordsley City's supporters crossed their fingers, but Paul Case was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a rather tough play, Stamford Bridge's Martin Halliday got a free kick in the 75th minute. Conal Sinclair scored 6-1 in the 76th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Kurt Atkins, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Paul Case fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kurt Atkins having to interfere. Conal Sinclair blasted a shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Kurt Atkins having to make a save. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Paul Case in the 85th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Kurt Atkins saved Stamford Bridge from getting behind. With 87 minutes on the clock, Johnathan Ealham commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. After a defensive mix-up in Stamford Bridge's zone, Conal Sinclair stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Kurt Atkins came out of the goal and Conal Sinclair tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Kurt Atkins stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Paul Case's shot from short distance in the 96th minute.
