Spectators: 6846 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1846, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Jon Bilton started the match with the kick off. 5 minutes into the game, Lindfield's Jon Bilton nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Sean Barrow made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. 8 minutes into the match, Lindfield's goal looked a bit too open when Garth Black came free, but Pierre Dexter reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 12 minutes into the game, Niall Anson cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Sean Barrow was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The Lindfield fans' excitement grew in the 15th match minute when Lindfield's Marek Lomas looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-3 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Sean Barrow made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jon Bilton in the 18th minute of play. The corner led Lindfield's Brendon Holland to fire away a dangerous shot which Sean Barrow despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. After a rather tough play, Lindfield's Marek Lomas got a free kick in the 23rd minute. Sean Barrow made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jon Bilton in the 25th minute of play. 27 minutes into the game, Niall Anson cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-4. Sean Barrow was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. When Marek Lomas fell near the penalty area in the 29th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Lindfield's protests and gave Marek Lomas a yellow card for diving instead. Jon Bilton struck a weak shot in the 31st minute. Sean Barrow didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Lindfield. In the 33rd minute Niall Anson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sean Barrow saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 35th minute, Jon Bilton made a precise shot to the right of Sean Barrow. Hendon's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-5. Marek Lomas got his second yellow card in the match during the 44th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. In the 45th match minute, Lindfield was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Marek Lomas to maneuver through the defense. Dominik Gilroy's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Sean Barrow read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 47th minute of play. After the first half Lindfield were leading 0-5. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Robert Moss made a kick off. After 56 played minutes Lindfield got a freekick which was hit by Jon Bilton. Niall Anson blasted a shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Sean Barrow having to make a save. Dominik Gilroy fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sean Barrow having to interfere. Sean Barrow didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Jon Bilton went, in the 65th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-6 was the resulting score. In the 70th minute Jon Bilton shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sean Barrow saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Niall Anson recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 72nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Camron Coogan recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 75th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A collision led to Hendon getting a freekick after 77 minutes play. Vernon Bellamy hit a great ball. Niall Anson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Hendon's Sean Barrow proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 86th minute of the match, managed to save Hendon from getting a goal against them. Sean Barrow made a fantastic save in the 88th minute, when Niall Anson sent off a good shot on target. Niall Anson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 90th minute. Sean Barrow tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The crowd rose to their feet as Jon Bilton kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Sean Barrow. That made the score 0-8 in the 92 minute of play. Niall Anson recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 96th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Lindfield played a much better game than Hendon and deserved their victory. The Hendon players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
