Spectators: 7431 (Terracing: 5500, Seating: 1831, VIP seats: 100) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Marty Tindale kicked off to start the match. In the 3rd match minute, Wordsley City was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Andre Whittingham to maneuver through the defense. Jerome Davies recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 4th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Felix Ring got free with Alfred Holloway in the 5th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Marty Tindale took the ball and in the 10 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Lawrence Knowles. Lawrence Knowles dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. In the 16th minute, Owen Coulthard ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Lawrence Knowles was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. With 21 minutes on the clock, Will Ellerton commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 20th minute of the game. One of Roseburn Rovers:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Wordsley City:s goal. In the 23rd minute there was a penalty for Wordsley City. Isaac Beattie stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Lawrence Knowles. 0-3. In the 26th match minute, Roseburn Rovers was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Brendon Whittingham to maneuver through the defense. If Brendon Whittingham had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Owen Coulthard took the ball and in the 35 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Lawrence Knowles. Lawrence Knowles dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-4. When Wordsley City's Marty Tindale in the 40th minute got a chance for a shot 40th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Roseburn Rovers's goalie prevented a goal. After a defensive mix-up in Wordsley City's zone, Terry Ryder stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Alfred Holloway came out of the goal and Terry Ryder tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Brendon Whittingham struck a weak shot in the 43rd minute. Alfred Holloway didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Roseburn Rovers. After 48 minutes of play, Wordsley City's Marty Tindale made it 0-5 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Lawrence Knowles was left in no man's land by his defense there!

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Brendon Whittingham to make the kick off. If Colin Seaward had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Roseburn Rovers's Lawrence Knowles proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 60th minute of the match, managed to save Roseburn Rovers from getting a goal against them. A collision led to Wordsley City getting a freekick after 62 minutes play. Eric Cousens hit a great ball. In the 65th minute of the match, Owen Coulthard got a very nice opportunity to score, but Lawrence Knowles was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. If Brendon Whittingham had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If Terry Ryder had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 76th minute, Owen Coulthard got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Alfred Holloway stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Brendon Whittingham's shot from short distance in the 82nd minute. Terry Ryder fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alfred Holloway having to interfere. Brendon Whittingham recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 87th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Andre Whittingham's late challenge caught a Roseburn Rovers's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Andre Whittingham helped the player get up and apologised. In the 93rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Wordsley City's goalkeeper Alfred Holloway, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Brendon Whittingham struck a weak shot in the 94th minute. Alfred Holloway didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Roseburn Rovers. Owen Coulthard received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 96th minute. Lawrence Knowles tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The Roseburn Rovers manager could be seen shouting at his players as they walked down the tunnel after the match. He was clearly angry that they had squandered their superior possession, allowing Wordsley City to win.
