After 10 minutes, Camron Coogan mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Lindfield and the Chelsea Football Club players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 10 played minutes Lindfield got a freekick which was hit by Camron Coogan. 13 minutes into the game, Marek Lomas cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Sean Byrne was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Marek Lomas might have been able to make a better finish in the 18th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Sean Byrne. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Marek Lomas ran back to his position shaking his head. Sean Byrne came out of the goal in the 29th minute to try and stop a shot by Lindfield's Camron Coogan. But to his dismay, Camron Coogan quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. Lindfield's Pierre Dexter played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Pete Straker in the 35th minute of play. 37 minutes into the game, Marek Lomas was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Lindfield's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Chelsea Football Club the free kick. Marek Lomas kicked well hit freekick during the 37th minute of the match. Jon Bilton received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. Sean Byrne tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With 44 minutes on the clock, Sidney Straker commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. After 45 played minutes Chelsea Football Club got a freekick which was hit by Sidney Straker. An unexpectedly hard shot by Camron Coogan in the 47th minute of play forced Chelsea Football Club's goalkeeper Sean Byrne to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for John Paul Pitts to strike the kick off in the second half. 3-0 became the score in the 51st minute when Marek Lomas elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Sean Byrne took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jon Bilton, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Sean Byrne came out of the goal in the 60th minute to try and stop a shot by Lindfield's Jon Bilton. But to his dismay, Jon Bilton quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-0. John Paul Pitts fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pierre Dexter having to interfere. In the 69th minute, Jon Bilton ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Sean Byrne was frozen by the shot and now it was 5-0. 74 minutes into the match, Jon Bilton notched a goal, 6-0, to the right of Chelsea Football Club's Sean Byrne. Sean Byrne was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Sean Byrne took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jon Bilton, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Camron Coogan came up free with the goalie in the 78th minute, the Lindfield fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Camron Coogan couldn't finish the play. Sean Byrne made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marek Lomas in the 79th minute of play. Sean Byrne took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Niall Anson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Chelsea Football Club's Sean Byrne played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Niall Anson in the 93rd minute of play. Chelsea Football Club's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
