Spectators: 6837 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1837, VIP seats: 0) Chelsea Football Club's Pete Straker started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Ashley Baker fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 3rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sean Byrne having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by John Paul Pitts in the 8th minute of play forced Haworth United's goalkeeper Nath Coulson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Luke Osbourne fell near the penalty area in the 10th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Chelsea Football Club's protests and gave Luke Osbourne a yellow card for diving instead. Haworth United's Camron Langley shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 11th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Sean Byrne but with some difficulty. After a defensive mix-up in Haworth United's zone, John Paul Pitts stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nath Coulson came out of the goal and John Paul Pitts tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 14 minutes, Johnathan Lawless mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Haworth United and the Chelsea Football Club players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Haworth United's Johnathan Lawless got a free kick in the 14th minute. Nath Coulson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pete Straker in the 16th minute of play. John Paul Pitts received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. Nath Coulson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. John Paul Pitts recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 22nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Pete Straker received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. Nath Coulson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 29 minutes into the game, Chelsea Football Club's Brad Lomas nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Nath Coulson made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Nath Coulson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Garry Foster, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Pete Straker sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Norman Fenton hit a great freekick 44 minutes into the match. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Gez Reading might have been able to make a better finish in the 81st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Nath Coulson. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. In the 87th minute Pete Straker shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nath Coulson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
