Mike Way received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 3rd minute. Tyrone Hartshorn tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 8 played minutes Maidstone United AFC got a freekick which was hit by Les Calder. Middlesbrough Ironopolis's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Lenny Carr in the 10th minute. Tyrone Hartshorn stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Richard Lindley's shot from short distance in the 15th minute. Tyrone Hartshorn showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mike Way in the 17th minute of the match. 22 minutes into the game, Marcus Rose cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Tyrone Hartshorn was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. With his leg Mickey Naisbitt managed to avoid a goal in the 25thth minute, when Middlesbrough Ironopolis's Lennie Currie fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Trey Scholey's late challenge caught a Maidstone United AFC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Trey Scholey helped the player get up and apologised. Les Calder struck a weak shot in the 32nd minute. Tyrone Hartshorn didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Maidstone United AFC. Mickey Naisbitt showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Stan Myers in the 38th minute of the match. Felix McCartney hit a great freekick 41 minutes into the match. With a little luck, Maidstone United AFC's Mickey Naisbitt got control of the ball when Lennie Currie tried to sneak it across the goal line. Lennie Currie fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mickey Naisbitt having to interfere. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Richard Lindley to strike the kick off in the second half. Mickey Naisbitt didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Casey Oliver went, in the 53rd minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Lennie Currie in the 57th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Mickey Naisbitt saved Maidstone United AFC from getting behind. Lenny Carr scored 2-1 in the 59th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Mickey Naisbitt, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Mickey Naisbitt showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lennie Currie in the 63rd minute of the match. Tyrone Hartshorn came out of the goal in the 65th minute to try and stop a shot by Maidstone United AFC's Richard Lindley. But to his dismay, Richard Lindley quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-2. In the 68th minute, Richard Lindley left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Maidstone United AFC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-3. 75 minutes into the match, Maidstone United AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Lenny Carr came free, but Mickey Naisbitt reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Lennie Currie fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mickey Naisbitt having to interfere. Lennie Currie sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 84th minute Casey Oliver shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mickey Naisbitt saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Tyrone Hartshorn made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Richard Lindley in the 87th minute of play. Middlesbrough Ironopolis's Tyrone Hartshorn played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Richard Lindley in the 87th minute of play. In the 89th minute the ball was on its way in behind Maidstone United AFC's goalkeeper Mickey Naisbitt, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 92nd minute Lennie Currie shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mickey Naisbitt saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Mickey Naisbitt took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lennie Currie, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The Maidstone United AFC players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
