Paul Newbury showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Billy Hallam, who was totally free with the ball in the 10th minute. 12 minutes into the match, Hugh Addison notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of New York Cosmos AFC's Paul Newbury. Paul Newbury was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 16 minutes into the match, Milano City AFC's Shaun Pinder sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Paul Newbury narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Shaun Pinder received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. New York Cosmos AFC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Milano City AFC the free kick. Paul Newbury didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Billy Hallam went, in the 29th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. Bobby Lagdon sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jo Allanson during the 34th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Milano City AFC booed when New York Cosmos AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 34 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jo Allanson didn't get a good kick on the ball. Pete Rundle fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Beinn McGrath having to interfere. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Benjamin Edmonton made a kick off. Beinn McGrath took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gwyn Blacksmith, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Milano City AFC's Beinn McGrath played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gwyn Blacksmith in the 53rd minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Billy Hallam in the 55th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Paul Newbury prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a defensive mix-up in Milano City AFC's zone, Benjamin Edmonton stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Beinn McGrath came out of the goal and Benjamin Edmonton tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Jake Hopker kicked well hit freekick during the 64th minute of the match. Dylan Holroyd hit a great freekick 67 minutes into the match. Beinn McGrath showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pete Rundle, who was totally free with the ball in the 68th minute. Bobby Lagdons short, quick shot in the 73rdth minute got Paul Newbury to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Bobby Lagdon kicked well hit freekick during the 80th minute of the match. In the 85th minute Billy Hallam shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Paul Newbury saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 92nd minute of the match, Billy Hallam tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Paul Newbury saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Paul Newbury stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Billy Hallam's shot from short distance in the 94th minute. The Milano City AFC players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
