The referee ignored St. Etienne's protests and gave Felix Chapman a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Chivas Athletic FC - UK booed when St. Etienne was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 4 match minutes in a wonderful position. Felix Chapman didn't get a good kick on the ball. Joe Ellerby took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luke Butcher, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Darryl Whitworth kicked well hit freekick during the 6th minute of the match. A hard shot 7 in the game by Seth England from a close distance when the talented David Crowther managed to make a qualified save. Chivas Athletic FC - UK's players were relieved. In the 12th minute Oscar Kershaw shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Joe Ellerby saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A hard shot by Felix Chapman from long distance, 13 minutes into the match, got David Crowther's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Joe Ellerby made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Oscar Kershaw in the 15th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Oscar Kershaw in the 20th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Joe Ellerby saved St. Etienne from getting behind. In the 22nd minute Oscar Kershaw shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Joe Ellerby saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. David Crowther made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Harvey Branch in the 27th minute of play. Oscar Kershaw received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 28th minute. Joe Ellerby tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Seth England got free in front of the goal in the 32nd minute he wasn't very focused and chipped the ball just over the goal. David Crowther was delighted since he was out of position and the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. In the 35th minute, Oscar Kershaw made a precise shot to the right of Joe Ellerby. St. Etienne's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. Luke Butcher received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. Joe Ellerby tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. St. Etienne's Joe Ellerby played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Oscar Kershaw in the 40th minute of play. Seth England hit a great freekick 48 minutes into the match. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

After a rather tough play, Chivas Athletic FC - UK's Nial Banim got a free kick in the 54th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Chivas Athletic FC - UK's zone, Harvey Branch stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. David Crowther came out of the goal and Harvey Branch tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. St. Etienne's Seth England got a good chance for a goal in the 57th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Lloyd Gould kicked well hit freekick during the 58th minute of the match. Chivas Athletic FC - UK's David Crowther played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Seth England in the 64th minute of play. Joel Castledine hit a great freekick 67 minutes into the match. Joe Ellerby came out of the goal in the 68th minute to try and stop a shot by Chivas Athletic FC - UK's Luke Butcher. But to his dismay, Luke Butcher quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. Oscar Kershaw who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 76thth minute tested the skills of Joe Ellerby when he managed to save the team from getting behind. 77 minutes into the game, Joel Castledine was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. St. Etienne's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Chivas Athletic FC - UK the free kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luke Butcher in the 78th minute of play forced St. Etienne's goalkeeper Joe Ellerby to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the match had gone on for 81 minutes, Oscar Kershaw took a quick shot and it went in 0-3 without a chance for Joe Ellerby to make any attempt to save it. St. Etienne's defense didn't have a chance, in the 84th minute, when Luke Butcher scored to the left of an out of position Joe Ellerby, making the score, 0-4. In the 87th minute Vern Church shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Joe Ellerby saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Oscar Kershaw could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 89th minute of the match, but Joe Ellerby made a huge save. The audience thought a goal was coming when Oscar Kershaw got free with Joe Ellerby in the 93rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The St. Etienne fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Chivas Athletic FC - UK were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
