In the 6th minute, Trey Scholey hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 8 played minutes Middlesbrough Ironopolis got a freekick which was hit by Stan Myers. In the 9th minute the ball was on its way in behind Middlesbrough Ironopolis's goalkeeper Tyrone Hartshorn, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Bobby Lagdon in the 12th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Tyrone Hartshorn saved Middlesbrough Ironopolis from getting behind. Billy Hallam received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Tyrone Hartshorn tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Tyrone Hartshorn didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Billy Hallam went, in the 17th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Thanks to some nice moves George Halliday could shoot a difficult shot in the 23rd minute, which Beinn McGrath however easily saved by the left post. If Bobby Lagdon had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 27th minute Billy Hallam shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tyrone Hartshorn saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Milano City AFC's Thom Lawton got a free kick in the 28th minute. Casey Oliver scored 1-1 in the 29th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Beinn McGrath, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Thom Lawton kicked well hit freekick during the 35th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lenny Carr in the 37th minute of play forced Milano City AFC's goalkeeper Beinn McGrath to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Bobby Lagdon had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. George Halliday succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 2-1 in the 45th playminute. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when George Halliday stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Thom Lawton hit a great freekick 53 minutes into the match. Beinn McGrath didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Casey Oliver went, in the 56th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-1 was the resulting score. Bobby Lagdon took the ball and in the 59 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Tyrone Hartshorn. Tyrone Hartshorn dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-2. Stew Langsford charged in rather forcefully in the 65th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Stew Langsford the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Middlesbrough Ironopolis booed when Milano City AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 66 match minutes in a wonderful position. Stew Langsford didn't get a good kick on the ball. Stan Myers missed a clear chance of a goal when in the 67 minute of the game fired away a shot, but unfortunally the ball went out to the Beinn McGrath right hand side. Tyrone Hartshorn showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Billy Hallam, who was totally free with the ball in the 71st minute. Felix McCartney hit a great freekick 72 minutes into the match. In the 74th minute, Alastair Ramsay hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Tyrone Hartshorn took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Billy Hallam, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Beinn McGrath came out of the goal in the 79th minute to try and stop a shot by Middlesbrough Ironopolis's George Halliday. But to his dismay, George Halliday quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-2. Beinn McGrath showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from George Halliday, who was totally free with the ball in the 83rd minute. Milano City AFC's Beinn McGrath played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by George Halliday in the 85th minute of play. Felix McCartney charged in rather forcefully in the 90th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Felix McCartney the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 90th match minute, Middlesbrough Ironopolis was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Felix McCartney to maneuver through the defense.
