FC Partizan Minsk's Jamal Weatherhead played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Chris Cadwallader in the 33rd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Chris Cadwallader in the 34th minute of play forced FC Partizan Minsk's goalkeeper Jamal Weatherhead to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 35th minute, Travis Beckwith made a precise shot to the right of Jamal Weatherhead. FC Partizan Minsk's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. Jamal Weatherhead stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Travis Beckwith's shot from short distance in the 38th minute. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Chris Cadwallader to make the kick off. After 58 played minutes K. Beerschot VAC got a freekick which was hit by Chris Cadwallader. When the match had gone on for 59 minutes, Rowan Bacon put it in 2-2 from a short distance just to the right of Stefan Gunn. In the 64th minute Chris Cadwallader shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jamal Weatherhead saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Stefan Gunn took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rowan Bacon, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Stefan Chegwyn hit a great freekick 70 minutes into the match. Chris Cadwallader received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 71st minute. Jamal Weatherhead tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With 74 minutes on the clock, Ivan Charlton commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. 74 minutes into the game, one of K. Beerschot VAC:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty.
