Seating: 1725, VIP seats: 97) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Seth England kicked off to start the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Joel Castledine in the 3rd minute of play forced Scarborough AFC's goalkeeper Shane Portway to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 6 minutes into the match, St. Etienne's goal looked a bit too open when Vince Burgess came free, but Joe Ellerby reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 7 minutes into the match, St. Etienne's goalkeeper Joe Ellerby had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Gez Hassell. Seth England received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 8th minute. Shane Portway tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 10 minutes of play, Scarborough AFC's Graeme Farrow made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Joe Ellerby was left in no man's land by his defense there! Gez Hassell received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 12th minute. Joe Ellerby tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 14 minutes into the match, Scarborough AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Harvey Branch came free, but Shane Portway reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. St. Etienne's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Eddie Knowles in the 16th minute. After taking down the ball on St. Etienne's corner Eddie Knowles fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Shane Portway quite easily take care of the ball. If Joel Castledine had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 21 minutes into the match, Joel Castledine notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Scarborough AFC's Shane Portway. Shane Portway was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The audience thought a goal was coming when Graeme Farrow got free with Joe Ellerby in the 25th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. A collision led to St. Etienne getting a freekick after 28 minutes play. Sebastien Murtagh hit a great ball. If Seth England had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gez Hassell kicked well hit freekick during the 34th minute of the match. In the 35th minute Seth England shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Shane Portway saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. St. Etienne's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Eddie Knowles in the 36th minute. The corner ended in Eddie Knowles almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Scarborough AFC's Shane Portway did a great save. In the 39th minute Seth England shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Shane Portway saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 40 minutes into the match, Vince Burgess notched a goal, 2-1, to the right of St. Etienne's Joe Ellerby. Joe Ellerby was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 46 minutes into the game, Harvey Branch cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-2. Shane Portway was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Graeme Farrow stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 54 minutes into the match, Scarborough AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Seth England came free, but Shane Portway reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 55 minutes of play, St. Etienne's Seth England made it 2-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Shane Portway was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 59th minute, Harvey Branch hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gez Hassell in the 61st minute of play forced St. Etienne's goalkeeper Joe Ellerby to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Joe Ellerby took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gez Hassell, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 65 minutes of play, Scarborough AFC's Gez Hassell made it 3-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Joe Ellerby was left in no man's land by his defense there! Seth England scored 3-4 in the 71st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Shane Portway, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After some fancy dribbling in the 73rd minute, Seth England managed to get in a good position for a shot. St. Etienne's supporters rose to their feet, but Seth England was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Shane Portway breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Harvey Branch received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Shane Portway came out and tried to block the shot, but Harvey Branch slotted it home off the left post making it 3-5 in the 75th minute. If Vince Burgess had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 79 played minutes St. Etienne got a freekick which was hit by Kyle Hurdle. When the match had gone on for 82 minutes, Joel Castledine put it in 3-6 from a short distance just to the right of Shane Portway. After 84 played minutes St. Etienne got a freekick which was hit by Sebastien Murtagh. Vince Burgess fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Joe Ellerby having to interfere. In the 90th minute, Vince Burgess left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Scarborough AFC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-6. After some fancy dribbling in the 93rd minute, Harvey Branch managed to get in a good position for a shot. St. Etienne's supporters rose to their feet, but Harvey Branch was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Shane Portway breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Joe Ellerby showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gez Hassell, who was totally free with the ball in the 96th minute. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. St. Etienne had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
