The Athletic Club London FC fans' excitement grew in the 40th match minute when Athletic Club London FC's Luke Lockwood looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. Fitz Donnelly breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The audience thought a goal was coming when Damon Sheldon got free with Paul Newbury in the 86th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Benjamin Edmonton in the 88th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Fitz Donnelly saved Athletic Club London FC from getting behind. A collision led to New York Cosmos AFC getting a freekick after 90 minutes play. Jo Allanson hit a great ball. Athletic Club London FC's Devon Potter got a good chance for a goal in the 92nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.
