If Billy Hallam had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 10th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Beinn McGrath showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Devon Potter in the 15th minute of the match. After 17 played minutes, Milano City AFC's Stew Langsford shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Fitz Donnelly came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Milano City AFC reached it. Stew Langsford took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 19th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Fitz Donnelly. Athletic Club London FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Fitz Donnelly showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Billy Hallam in the 20th minute of the match. The supporters of Milano City AFC booed when Athletic Club London FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marty Grigg didn't get a good kick on the ball. Milano City AFC's Bobby Lagdon got a good chance for a goal in the 23rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Fitz Donnelly stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Billy Hallam's shot from short distance in the 24th minute. After some careless play in the Athletic Club London FC defense, Billy Hallam kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Fitz Donnelly. The Athletic Club London FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Fitz Donnelly should have stopped the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Devon Potter in the 31st minute of play forced Milano City AFC's goalkeeper Beinn McGrath to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 36 minutes into the match, Athletic Club London FC's goal looked a bit too open when Bobby Lagdon came free, but Fitz Donnelly reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 39th minute, Damon Sheldon managed to get in a good position for a shot. Athletic Club London FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Damon Sheldon was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Beinn McGrath breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After the first half Milano City AFC were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Billy Hallam was the one to do the kick off. In the 51st match minute, Milano City AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dave Sherman to maneuver through the defense. 54 minutes into the match, Milano City AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Damon Sheldon came free, but Beinn McGrath reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 55th minute the ball was on its way in behind Athletic Club London FC's goalkeeper Fitz Donnelly, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Beinn McGrath took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Damon Sheldon, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Billy Hallam charged in rather forcefully in the 58th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Billy Hallam the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Beinn McGrath made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nigel Boyes in the 62nd minute of play. In the 64th minute Devon Potter shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Beinn McGrath saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Athletic Club London FC were awarded a corner in the 65th minute after Milano City AFC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Orson Bryant took the corner. Athletic Club London FC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Orson Bryant in the 67th minute. The corner first didn't look so dangerous but when Marty Grigg got the ball he succeeded in some way to get through the defenders to deliver a very hard score. Result 2-2. 67 minutes into the match. In the 71st minute, Shaun Pinder got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Billy Hallam's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 77thth minute, Fitz Donnelly skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. In the 85thth minute of the game Billy Hallam who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Athletic Club London FC's Fitz Donnelly was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Billy Hallam did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 2-5 to the left of a surprised Fitz Donnelly 88 minutes into the match. After 94 played minutes Milano City AFC got a freekick which was hit by Hugh Addison. In the 95th minute of the match Orson Bryant sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Beinn McGrath skillfully saved the ball. Milano City AFC's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
