Adrian Claydon's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Dale Tompkins read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 38th minute of play. Toby Topham showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Chesney Jobson in the 41st minute of the match. In the 42nd minute, Huey Hughes ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Dale Tompkins was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. Dale Tompkins made an important save on a dangerous shot by Huey Hughes in the 46th minute. Dale Tompkins showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Huey Hughes in the 47th minute of the match. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Chesney Jobson to make the kick off. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Huey Hughes in the 56th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Dale Tompkins prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Huey Hughes blasted a shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Dale Tompkins having to make a save. Dale Tompkins showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Huey Hughes, who was totally free with the ball in the 64th minute. In the 66th minute, Phillip Wilson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. K.S.V Waregem's Toby Topham played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Chesney Jobson in the 71st minute of play. Chesney Jobson hit a great freekick 73 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Huey Hughes in the 75th minute of play forced AFC Ascoli's goalkeeper Dale Tompkins to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Dale Tompkins stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Huey Hughes's shot from short distance in the 76th minute. Kristian Topham sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 88 minutes into the match, Huey Hughes notched a goal, 2-2, to the right of AFC Ascoli's Dale Tompkins. Dale Tompkins was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Huey Hughes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dale Tompkins having to interfere. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
